Join The Initiative

In every moment, we face a choice: to react from instinct, fear, or offense—or to pause, reflect, and choose a more compassionate response. The Strawberry Initiative exists to shift this choice on a collective level.

This campaign is a call to bridge the gap between trauma survivors and those who have never experienced trauma firsthand. Through storytelling, symbolism, and education, we spread a vital message:

"Trauma lived is not a deficit—it’s a valuable experience. But trauma returned for trauma only deepens the wound. And when met with dismissals and devaluation, only creates an environment to keep replicating trauma. Trauma must be addressed at the onset, in time, with care and reverence for the victim."

Right now, society treats trauma as something to hide, fear, or fix. Survivors are often stigmatized—as broken, unstable, or “too much.” But this shallow view not only silences the wounded, it creates a deficit across families, communities, and even our global economy.

We’re here to challenge that stigma.

Because when we show the world that healing is possible—and valuable—we transform suffering into strength. And when society learns to value survivors, survivors breathe easier.

We believe people don’t change until they see what’s possible. So we’re showing them.

Buy a Strawberry

$5 from each purchased strawberry funds trauma-informed coaching, new music with Black Bird Collective, and gives back to survivor organizations like Genesis Project and Unbound Now.

These hand-knit strawberries are a reminder to carry around with you to keep finding the light in the darkness. The choice is yours, you can keep the strawberry for yourself, or you can opt to have the strawberry gifted to a survivor.

Why strawberries?

Strawberries symbolize celebration and life for Brooke—but also triggered a deep core wound of abuse. Relearning to embrace strawberries became a metaphor: integrating and focusing on joy while processing trauma. A hand‑knit strawberry is an invitation—to carry light through darkness, one tangible and grounding symbol of resilience.

Why It Matters

Because the most powerful way to teach is by example.
And the most effective way to heal trauma is to bring it into the light.

This fundraiser helps survivors name their experiences—a crucial first step in healing. When trauma is acknowledged, shared, and supported, its power begins to dissolve. Survivors reclaim their agency. Vulnerability becomes strength.

By raising funds directly around the experience itself, we diminish the shame that so often surrounds trauma—and transform that pain into purpose.

What’s ignored festers.
What’s illuminated begins to heal.

This initiative doesn’t just uplift survivors—it also educates those outside of trauma, revealing how deeply unresolved pain shapes behavior, health, and relationships. Trauma isn’t something we’re built to survive—but many of us do. And survival alone is not the end goal—freedom is.

When you give, you validate those journeys. You help survivors breathe easier, speak louder, and walk freer. You also send a powerful signal: you are not alone—and you are not forgotten.

Whatever you give from the heart, comes back multiplied.
Join us in transmuting pain into purpose.
