Where Does The Love Go?

When you run from the reality of your pain —

When you turn away from your need to express anger —

When you stuff your feelings deep in a bag, never to be dealt with —

When you avoid the tension in your face, neck, shoulders, lower back —

When you suffocate your own desire to share love with others, in any form —

Where does the love go?

Where.

I’ll tell you — it goes nowhere. Likewise, you don’t either. 

That love lies dormant, frozen and lifeless. Where the resistance here to your ability to love, causes an internal friction within your mind, body and soul. That’s why you have the body tension, the slowly evolving contortion of your spine, posture or facial features. That’s why you have inconsistency within your relationships or pursuits. It’s because the love you had and needed regarding a certain circumstance or event was not provided. Whether or not there was a person responsible to provide that for you back then, there is nothing stopping you from providing that to yourself now. To build a life without love, isn’t a life — it’s imprisonment to the ways of evil. 

Cause truly — how the heck do you think people live 80, 90, 100 years of pure life, without love? Without fully processing out from one season of life to the next? Without handling the difficult things with care? Without being fully present?  And not that it’s about longevity, but when humans were first created, about 1000 years on the earth was our design. You could never survive a 1000 years, 100, or a decade even, if you don’t have an appreciation for life, if you do not have love in your heart.  

The saddest thing I think, for any of us to fall into the habit of thinking and believing, is that if love comes our way, that means something is wrong. That we must be self-sacrificing in order to receive love, and anything that is a by-product of love. 

“For God so loved ” — 

God never tried to control the outcome of what He created. He’s been ever-working it, despite downfalls with countless numbers of us turning away from Him, myself included, with His steadfast love.  

All He’s asked of us since the beginning is that we be with Him. 

With Him is never a place of self-sacrifice, isolation in your pain, wandering for answers, or forms of torture or suffering to receive.

Never. 

To be with Him means to be fully present with yourself. Here with your feet (single or nubs, cane, prosthetics, wheels) on the ground, mind at peace, heart protected, open hands (fingers, nubs, prosthetics).
