Give Up — The Right Way

Sep 11, 2026

It’s Suicide Awareness and Prevention Month. I have a few words and sentiments for you to chew on.

Your mind needs rest. It also needs oxygen. A great way to get that is to go for a walk. Go hug a tree. Put your bare feet in the grass.

Your heart needs guarding, it also needs connection. A great way to get that is to spend quality time with a friend doing your favorite hobby. Not a lot of friends at the moment? Go sign up for a class somewhere — gym, art studio, library, bakery. Meet new people with common-interests. Go grocery shopping.

Your minds-eye needs a vision and focus for the future. A great way to get that is to choose one life-giving desire that you’re going to work towards. That you determine you will earn for yourself. Something I want? I want to be a badass grandma with tattoos. I’ve already got the “seen some shit” factor down — and a few tattoos — all I need now is a family to get the kids for the hopeful, grandkids down the line. Maybe I need to seriously consider the mothering/parenting factor and figure that out first.

You need boundaries and are terrible at setting and keeping them. A great way to start doing this is to say no to one thing in your house you don’t need. One thing that’s taking up extra space, whether physical or mind-space. Filter out what’s not necessary for your wellbeing. That will never be you. Most of the time, it’s just the ANTs (automatic negative thoughts).

Your soul needs peace. A great way to get that is to stop “fighting” and learn. Listen to me. Stop associating life with survival-mode. Associate it with learning. Associate life with growth. Next, allow yourself to grow. Growth is slow and steady. Life is a marathon, not military combat. Protect your peace.

If you’re like me and you “learned” life wrong, I’m here to tell you and show you — it’s okay. Does it suck to realize? No doubt about it. All that means is to give up — that way of living. Not life altogether. So give up the thought that you are supposed to suffer or have to sacrifice parts of yourself to attain anything. Give up the lie that you aren’t good enough.

You woke up today with breath in your lungs. That’s proof enough that you were meant to live it. That’s proof that you have one more day to enjoy life.

If you are someone struggling/projecting/contemplating, speak this out loud:

“No — suicide is not my story.”

Stay.

Leaving isn’t an option, but leaving the hell that’s inside your mind is. In order to do that, listen and do what I said.^

If you’re here wondering why I talk about suicide prevention at all, my heart to help is a byproduct of where I’ve been, who I’ve been around and what I’ve seen. That and, I know the power my story holds. I believe it’s a conviction I was given because of the anointing of and power of my tongue. I dealt with demonic intrusive thoughts once, what helped there was looking at my grandmother’s possessions in my home. Everything she left behind is doused in anointment, where just looking at the items broke through the visions and voices that intruded my mind. 3 NDE’s in a 6-month timespan isn’t “easy” to recover from, but it’s possible.

Believe it.

Peace.
